I zipped a bunch of files using v17.5. Later when I wanted a file in the archive, I was told the file was not a .zip archive. I went to their website and followed all their suggestions. Finally, I contacted them and asked them to look at the corrupted file. After some back and forth, I was handed over to a Bill Gleinister of WinZip Technical Support. He wrote: "...there are now and always have been Zip files that have been corrupt, either _while being created_ or afterwards." It is the user's problem to find out. Further, WinZip had no interest in even _looking_ at the file even though I had paid for this product.

Summary: Untrustworthy product. Unhelpful support.

Action: Don't buy.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Monetary Loss: $70.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.
